Computer woes may be coming to a close! I'm taking my mom's old desktop that she replaced after it had a major hiccup (ends out the power supply died, not the motherboard), which as is is basically powerful enough for my needs, though hopefully I can upgrade it later~

Other than the box, I'll be getting another tablet (one that should work okay with a widescreen... screen) on the cheap and sometime a flatscreen monitor. WOO. It really, really helps that the box is essentially good enough so we don't have to worry about spending hundreds of dollars on chips and doodads that hardly any of us know wtf they do.

I suppose what I need to do now clean my room (heh) to fit that silly computer desk in. I get to find out if my wire shelving will fit under my ceiling fan, yaaaaay. *really hopes it does* If it doesn't, I'll have to remove something. I-I'm sure it'll fit, it isn't that tall...

Anyway, the timing of all this is really great, seeing as classes for me will start next week and I'm pretty sure one of them will require access to Photoshop. 8D; *dies a little*

Haven't posted here in a while due to total lack of Photoshoppery, but I think I'm getting a hang of opencanvas. At least I can do stuff other than sketch in it now. XD; So! I offer unto the one or two people that actually look at this the entirety of all the things I consider vaguely worth looking at that I've drawn over the last couple of months.

In other news, I use Twitter lots lots more. Apparently I do a better job of updating when condensing my thought(s) into a 150 character space? T-that's a little sad. Oh, well, I'm not the only one.

Also, I'm stoked for next quarter; better weather, graphics class on a subject I actually need help in, and I get to keep my bestest teacher ever for math~ Yay! I don't even care that I have to fight for a parking spot on main campus for it, the bonuses for it totally outweigh the suckage.

Oh my gaaaaaah! DDDDD8; I want him, he's so danged SMOKY. A full set (clothes and stuff) is over $600, though... ;_; Plus my sisters would make fun of me/accuse me of being intensely creepy. And... it's not like I own a camera to take prettyprettypretty pictures with him omg, so pretty. Ijcailhcfseuhjl, so much prettier than any computer. *_*

Alas. Once I am a member of the working class zombie hoard, then maybe I can afford pretty things, not that I will likely be able to enjoy them, what with all the hours I'll have to work to be able to afford them~

On the "want" front, also, my laptop's getting worse. It's taking forever to load programs and switch windows, and sometimes it can't find websites, even though they're working and I've got an excellent internet connection. The screen is also still acting up, not turning on for long stretches. I went ahead and downloaded a program to go through and fix my registry a bit, clean out old things and such. Hopefully that'll help out a bit. Dang it, laptop, do you just want to die and get all this suffering over with? 'Cause I'm happy to oblige. *prepares battle ax*

8D; I couldn't find an image for each month that was actually finished that also showed actual care, or anything, so you get this. I hadn't even intended on doing something like this (hence the lack of niceness for this month), but I got incredibly bored. Anyway, I like to think I progressed in some way (probably in willingness to shade things), but heck if I can tell. XD All I know is that I like the December picture more than the January one, even though the Jan. one's finished and Dec. is just a sketch from my sketchbook.

this year for drawing's been kiiind of crappy, especially in April. That was seriously the only thing I could find that hasn't a messy sketch. Same for June, really. :/ We'll see how I do next year. I plan on forcing myself to make something big in Photoshop every month, just so I can work on my technique, what little I have. XD

Woo, so, it's generally a good idea for me to go through and list all the things I got for Christmas somewhere, so here's a good a place as any.

8D Glee! It came with Sports, which my sisters and I spent most of yesterday playing. :3 I'm much better at Wii Bowling and Golf than in real life. Once I have a not-dying or outdated computer in my grasp, I'll probably start saving up for Wii and Gamecube games. :3 Fun fun fun. Anyway, hopefully my dad'll be reformatting my laptop in the next few days, so I may disappear for a day or two, depending on how long he takes and how long it takes me to set everything back up.

Taking into consideration the prices for computers and how frequently art programs are being updated and being made monstrously large, I decided (with help of my sister) to save up for a new desktop instead of a new laptop. They're generally about $100 less than a comparable laptop and I can upgrade them at will, and even a crappy refurbished one would beat the snot from my current one. XD My desktop is a sad sad toaster. The only thing I know it really has going for it is the freaking fan. *pets it* It doesn't even have a full case, the side piece has been missing for years.

So, yes. Combo saving up money from commissions or whatever with clearing out my room entirely to put my current desktop in there so I can start complaining about it to my mom without her having the ability to counter with "It's not even on a desk" or "It's not in your room being used" or what have you in order to bolster the possibility of getting a new setup within the next year so I can work on pictures bigger than 2000x2000 without having Photoshop nearly crash all the time. :D

I HAVE A GOAL, YESSSS. And a legit one, too. I mean, dude. I'm a graphics design student, I need to, y'know, do graphics design. So, yes, that's my one and only "new years resolution," to get a new desktop by any means necessary... hopefully followed quickly by a new screen, because I just know that once I start using my sister's clunker of a screen, I will kill it. It's just my luck, you know.

Don't worry, I'm not the type to go on about my personal beliefs. :3; I just want to share something little I did for the Primary class I'm helping with in church. The lady I'm helping asked if I could do a coloring page featuring a baby Jesus, so...



I did! I think it came out pretty well, really, considering it's my first time trying to a) make a coloring page, and b) make something so LARGE (about the same size as a piece of printer paper; three times as large as I usually work) on my laptop in... over a year? I'm pretty sure I nearly crashed it halfway. This poor thing (meaning the laptop) is not handling what I need it to do well at all. It's a good thing it'll be reformatted next week...

But, yeah! I managed to finish it, and I think it looks pretty good! Jesus is pretty baby-like without the frumpy horribleness that newborn babies usually have, though the nose is definitely NOT a baby nose. but, whatever; artistic licence, I has one.

So... yeah! I hope everyone's having a good winter break so far. :3; Mine cooooould have been better, but hey, nothing's exploded around here. 'S'all good.

So, I decided Caseatrix needs more organised crime, so I'm making myself make up two opposing gangs for Rascii. Thusfar I've only got one of them even remotely worked on, the Crown and Knife Ensemble, or CaKE. Heehee, CaKE. All they have is their name, colors, and general symbol, which is kind of wicked.



Blame this on watching Gangland for four hours straight.

Also, tomorrow, no matter how windy it is, I'm going out for soda and taking pictures of my freaking car. >8| Sickness/weather have made taking pictures unpleasant, but NO MORE. *shakes fist at sky* Stop making it cold for a bit, would ya?!
